Baikonur Tour: CityThe Baikonur City, also known as Zarya, Leninskiy, Leninsk and Zvezdograd, was the Soviet and is now the Russian Space Center. The construction of the city was done at considerable expense. This allowed the building of a modern town in a semi-desert in a short period of time, in which engineers, specialists and technicians live and operate Ąssembly building vehicles, Launching pads and operations of the Cosmodrome (Baikonur: Map and Plan). For their families, kindergartens, schools, a branch of the Moscow Aviation Institute, supermarkets, cinemas, cafes and restaurants were built.
